MARINER BULLETIN

Are you DETENTION is held on
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 3:00 - 4:00 pm
Wednesdays from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. 
There is no detention on Fridays.


REMINDER TO ALL MARINERS...All absences must be cleared within 72 hours.  Any absences not cleared by then will result in a Saturday School. Call Attendance to clear at Ext. 5291

  • Remember next week are the Homecoming spirit days! Monday the 24th is denim and overall day, Tuesday is jungle day, Wednesday is water day, Thursday is athletic day and on Friday wear your class homecoming shirts or any Mariner wear! We expect everyone to participate and have fun with it!

  • Did you earn a D or F in a class? Edgenuity contracts are available now, see your counselor today to sign up and get started.

  • The Rep from the University of Hawaii will be here on Friday, September 21st at 12:45pm in the College & Career Center. U of H offers great programs in Business, Health Sciences, and the Social Sciences. View other college visits and sign up in Naviance!
  • If you are interested in joining the surf team, there is a meeting in Mr. Manildi's room D-205 on Thursday during lunch. Everyone is welcome!
  • Do you like electronics, building robots, gaining business experience, and competitions? Come and join the ROV club on Tuesdays at lunch in room D-205, no experience necessary and everyone is welcome!
  • All students are invited to attend the California Highway Patrol Start Smart Presentation for Young Drivers on tomorrow from 6-7:30 pm in the Performing Arts Center.  Students who attend will earn ten 5star points that they can redeem towards rewards at a later date and some insurance companies offer discounts for teens who attend.
  • Attention all students, Super Saturday School will be this Saturday September 22nd from 9am to 1 pm.  Please check your attendance daily on School Loop and remember that students with 18 or more unexcused period absences and/or tardies are on the exclusion list for AHS events such as the upcoming Homecoming Dance.

               COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

 

  • Want to help clean up your local environment? Join the Surfrider club, meetings are help on Mondays at lunch in Mr. Hueth's room D-107. Come help us beatify our community and get community service hours!
  • Need community service hours? The Teen Kitchen Project is a nonprofit organization that brings young people into the kitchen to learn and cook delicious and nourishing food. The meals they prepare are delivered to individuals and families in our community who are living with life-threatening illnesses. For more information please ask at the front office.
  • The Santa Cruz Sheriff's office Youth Academy is now accepting applications, you will learn about law enforcement, criminal investigations, coroner investigations and much more! This is a great opportunity to get community service hours and clear up attendance and Saturday school issues. For more information ask at the front office or the SRO office.

  • DRIVING & PARKING ON CAMPUS ALERT....... TICKETING IS IN EFFECT... Vehicles not adhering to all parking and driving regulations are subject to ticketing or towing!
  • ABSENCES MUST BE CLEARED WITHIN 72 HOURS, 5 unexcused absences equals 1 Saturday School. Be sure to check your attendance on a regular basis, if you have 5 or more unexcused absences just attend a Saturday School and sign in. Students are responsible for keeping track of their attendance.
