This course is
an introduction to the career opportunities within the sports and recreation
job market. Students will participate
in a combination of interactive classroom instruction, skill practice both in
the classroom and at sport related local community worksites, and receive three
different certifications as a result of successful course completion. Explore many areas in sports medicine,
sports management, sports pedagogy, and sports science through hands on
applicable lab work. Physical therapy,
athletic training, sports broadcasting, officiating, coaching, personal
training, kinesiology and exercise physiology are just a few of the many
specific areas we will participate in.
Sports Related
Occupations will provide students with a broad base overview of a vast and
growing area, gain entry-level sports/recreation related skills as well as
their employability skills, and expose them to potential career opportunities
and future options for career advancement and higher education.

Must be in 11th
or 12th grade or 16 years and older.
