Here's Your Voice, Now Use It
------------------------------------------------------------

by Meghan Hunt, Student Editor
You may be frustrated about ongoing violence, domestically and abroad. The war in Iraq,
for example. You may feel helpless in the face of politics changing laws, and school rules.
Gas prices, anyone? You may be angry that we no longer have a student newspaper where
you can rant and rave about all of these things. Well, we’re not bringing back the school
newspaper. And we’re not guaranteeing an end to life’s problems, wither. But what we are
offering is a place to highlight the issues that concern you most.

Think Peace was created to provoke critical thinking at Aptos High about peace issues in
the school, community and world around us. It is a place for students to identify problems
and address them with peaceful solutioins. The magazine offers a unique chance to talk
about the things that frustrate, weaken, and anger us, and allows students to publish their
own peaceful resolutions to these problems.

So think critically about the world around you. How far is too far? When is it not enough?
And what can we do about it? Form your own opinions and share them with the school.
Because it’s when we stop thinking and stop caring that problems occur, and school
publications like this one cease to exist. but you may find that, when we collect our
thoughts and work towards real solutions, we may actually end some of our problems.
your thoughts are vital to keeping Aptos High, this magazine, alive and well.
