AHS Student Parking Update April 11, 2008
Parking questions answered and reminders:
- Are partner permits still available? Yes. We have room in all the lower lots.
- Are senior-senior Main Lot permits available? No. These spaces went to the students who participated in the ASB monitored lottery.
- Can I get an individual permit? Yes, but it's a qualified yes. You must submit a letter outlining the reasons why you were unsuccessful in getting a partner permit. The letters are reviewed and given a weighting based on need. Upon administration approval, you will receive an individual permit with a red window sticker. Individual permit holders may only park along Mariner Way and in the Baseball Lot.
- Will I receive a ticket if I park without the proper permit? Yes. We have been ticketing non permitted cars in the Main Lot and this ticketing effort will be moving to other areas of campus in the coming weeks.
- May I park up on Port Place (Bobbies Road) if I have a permit? No. Students are not allowed to park anywhere on Port Place. This area is reserved for staff only. You will receive a ticket if you park there.
- I have zero period. Why can't I park close to the campus, nobody else is here? If you have an individual or partner permit you may park on Mariner Way as long as there is space.
- May I move my car up closer to the campus during lunch as spaces become available? No. You may not go to your car for any reason unless it's at the end of your school day and you're going home. All parking lots, staff and student, are out of bounds unless you are leaving on schedule or have written administrative approval to be in the lot. The consequence for being out of bounds is Saturday School.
- Who do I contact if I have questions or complaints about parking or tickets? Contact Office Manager Vicki Silva, (688-6565 x230).
