MARINER BULLETIN

Are you DETENTION is held on
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 3:00 - 4:00 pm
Wednesdays from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. 
There is no detention on Fridays.


REMINDER TO ALL MARINERS...All absences must be cleared within 72 hours.  Any absences not cleared by then will result in a Saturday School. Call Attendance to clear at Ext. 5291

 

  • It’s never to soon to start thinking about college. All next week will be dedicated to college readiness, you can participate by being college spirited and by wearing college wear. Look forward to a lunch event on Monday at lunch in the quad!
  • Starting next week, ASB will be selling Boo-grams from Monday the 22nd to the following Monday October 28th. Boo grams will be sold during break and lunch in the main quad all next week! Come by and surprise your friends with a sweet treat during Halloweeen!
  • Attention all students interested in Wrestling, there is an important meeting today during lunch in the Wrestling room. Please attend!
  • Come to the Bring Change to Mind meeting today in room E-107 during lunch. We will be voting for our officers and for our first project of the year.
  • All girls interested in playing basketball this year please come to an informational meeting today in Mr. Bowyer's room E-205 during lunch.
  • Students grades 9-11 who ordered school pictures, please come and pick them up in the front office with Silvia during break, lunch or after school.
  • Applications for the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) are now open for the Spring 2018 grades. You can pick up your application in the main office, or download it on the CSF page of the Aptos High Website. Please bring your completed application, a copy of your spring 2018 report card and a receipt from the fiscal clerk showing that your membership dues have been paid to Elva Martin (counseling office) the deadline is today!
  • The Rep from Linfield College will be on campus in the College & Career Center today at 10:45am. Sign up in Naviance!
  • The Rep from Scripps College will be on campus in the College & Career Center at 1:45am today. Scripps is an all womens college that is part of the Claremont Colleges Consortium. Scripps has excellent programs in the Social Sciences, Biology, Visual & Performing Arts and more. Sign up in Naviance!
  • Make sure to check into your classes and get your pass before you go to the college & career center!

 

               COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

 

  • Valencia Harvest Festival is looking for students who need community service hours and want to participate in this fun and exciting event, for more information please ask at the front office.
  • Hey Mariners! Need community service hours? Today in room D-105 we can help, so come to Mrs. Mullin's class during lunchtime! See you there!
  • Want to help clean up your local environment? Join the Surfrider club, meetings are help on Mondays at lunch in Mr. Hueth's room D-107. Come help us beatify our community and get community service hours!
  • Need community service hours? The Teen Kitchen Project is a nonprofit organization that brings young people into the kitchen to learn and cook delicious and nourishing food. The meals they prepare are delivered to individuals and families in our community who are living with life-threatening illnesses. For more information please ask at the front office.
  • The Santa Cruz Sheriff's office Youth Academy is now accepting applications, you will learn about law enforcement, criminal investigations, coroner investigations and much more! This is a great opportunity to get community service hours and clear up attendance and Saturday school issues. For more information ask at the front office or the SRO office.

  • DRIVING & PARKING ON CAMPUS ALERT....... TICKETING IS IN EFFECT... Vehicles not adhering to all parking and driving regulations are subject to ticketing or towing!
  • ABSENCES MUST BE CLEARED WITHIN 72 HOURS, 5 unexcused absences equals 1 Saturday School. Be sure to check your attendance on a regular basis, if you have 5 or more unexcused absences just attend a Saturday School and sign in. Students are responsible for keeping track of their attendance.
