Graduation Requirements: Aptos High School offers a rigorous academic program. Two hundred and twenty credits are needed to graduate with the following requirements:
Competency exams in reading, writing, and mathematics is also required. For sophomore status, a student must have a minimum of 50 credits. To be a junior, 100 credits are needed. 160 credits are required for senior status. We also offer AP courses on-line through the University of California's College Prep Interactive. Reflective of our success as an educational institution are the high SAT and A.P. scores achieved by our students. (See data tables on page) Many of our students participate in the Regional Occupational Program, coordinated through the county office of Education and held on sites throughout Santa Cruz County. Opportunities range from computer repair, common automotive, automotive maintenance, law enforcement, and cosmetology. |
