Education Budget Cuts from
the State |
Diane – Three levels to the discussion: How will cuts affect the district? How will cuts affect the campus? How will cuts affect the site council? Handouts – 1) district budget committee’s
priority rankings given to the board – Diane explained how rankings were assigned
and what was voted to be forwarded to the board. Priority ranking the possible cuts gives the board an objective
approach to the budget cut decisions. The percentage of unrestricted versus restricted
budget cuts are aligned to those cuts determined by the state. When a cut was suggested, it was required
that the person or party generating the suggested cut also suggest what
percentage of the affected department’s overall budget should be cut. 2)
campus based budget comparison this year to next year – Diane explained what
types are services are funded by each budget category. |

Textbook adoption |
Steve Pegg – presentation of math texts. Steve explained the process by which the
math department picked the texts they hope to adopt (standards alignment,
pacing guides, ESL, etc.) |
