3810 Biology  (AP)

Prerequisite: Approval of current Science teacher and completion of Biology and Chemistry with grades of "B" or better

Grade Level: 11 - 12

This is a college level, fast paced course designed for students seeking to develop their knowledge of biology at a detailed level. There are two goals: inspiring students to excel in their Biology education and success on the AP exam.  We study everything from fungus to fruit flies. The class explores the complexities of cell biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, and the kingdoms of life. To supplement the vast amount of material covered in class, students will complete the twelve required AP labs plus a variety of other labs. Connections to scientific history and current topics such as bioethics are stressed regularly.
