- GEOMETRY (Year) Grade Level: 9-12 Prerequisite: Algebra 1 with a grade of 'C' or better. This course investigates the plane geometry of triangles and other polygons and circles including concepts of congruence, similarity, distance and area, and the Pythagorean Theorem. Further, it investigates the solid geometry of cubes, prisms, spheres, pyramids, and cones and the calculations of volume, density, and surface area. This course also defines and uses both inductive and deductive reasoning in developing and providing concepts in Geometry. This course meets the requirements for a second year of college preparatory math.
