  • INTRO. TO COMPUTERS (Semester)
    (Replaces Keyboarding) Grade Level: 9-12
    Prerequisite: None.
    Students will learn keyboarding by touch using correct typing techniques, correct fingering of letter, number and symbol keys. The course includes an introduction to Windows and an introduction to Word. Students learn the formatting of letters, memos, unbound manuscripts, and how to create a personal resume. Basic email and the Internet will be taught also. Speed develop is an important component of the course. A career portfolio is developed at the end of the semester. No homework assigned, but unfinished work may be completed outside of the class. Computer labs are available for student use after school. Difficulty depends upon student's aptitude.
