NEW ROP COURSES FOR SPRING 08

Interior Design

Location: Santa Cruz High

Monday & Wednesday 6:00 PM 8:00 PM

This course provides entry-level training in interior design/home furnishings. Students are prepared for job opportunities in the field which includes designer's assistant, fabric librarian and sales of home furnishing products.

Instruction covers scale drawings, computer assisted design, blueprint reading, color, fabric, furniture styles and coverings for walls, floors and windows. Students use equipment which includes architect's scale ruler, calculators and computers.

Five (5) credits per semester class.

Culinary Careers

Location: TBA (Santa Cruz or Scott's Valley)

After School Program

This instructional program prepares students for food production, preparation, and service skills for employ-ment in institutional, commercial, or independently owned food establishments or other food and hospitality industry occupations.

Instruction includes topics such as planning, selecting, storing, purchasing, preparing, testing, serving and selling of quality food and food products; nutritive values; safety and sanitation; use and care of commercial equipment; management of food establishments; cost and profitability analysis; side work and customer orders; and handling cash and credit transactions. Lab fee required.

Five (5) credits per semester class.
