Start Smart: Driving Smart to Stay Safe
In a continued effort to support students and to maintain a safe campus Aptos High School is partnering with the California Highway Patrol Department to offer the Start Smart Program.
Excerpt from the “Start Smart: Driving Smart to Stay Safe” on the California Highway Patrol Department website:
Getting their driver's license opens a new world to young drivers. Suddenly, the possibility of new destinations and experiences with friends are within grasp. But a new driver lacks the experience that is sometimes needed on the road. Situations can appear in a second, sometimes too fast for a new driver to respond to. But, there are ways to avoid dangerous situations. There are ways to keep a new driver - and their passengers - safe on the road.
Although not mandatory, we are asking all students participate in the Start Smart Program if they plan to obtain an AHS parking permit for the 2015-16 School Year.
There are two planned classes in the Performing Arts Center “PAC”:
- Tuesday 8/4 – 6:00pm to 7:30pm
- Thursday 9/3 – 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Thank you for your support.
