Congratulations to AHS artists who submitted art to all of our shows. The following students received awards from the Santa Cruz Art League : Devon Ashley received 2nd place from the Santa Cruz Watercolor Society for her watercolor of a pelican; Page Quinn received the John McKinely Award for her pencil drawing; Robert Maciel received the Museum of Art and History Award for his self-portraits; Heather McKenna received the Monday Night Drawing Award for Figurative Drawing or Painting for her acrylic portrait; Abraham Lluevano received 2nd place for his scratchboard of a buffalo; an Honorable Mention was awarded to Grant Buchwald for his portrait of Marilyn Monroe ; Aimee Sasaki received 3rd place for her mixed media sand painting; Roxanne Koch received 1st place for her watercolor of a flower; Daniel Martinez received 3rd place for his watercolor landscape "Rolling Hills"; an Honorable Mention was awarded to Kaitlyn Barnard for her color photograph; Zack Rotstein received 3rd place for his black and white portrait of Danny Fimbres; and Nathaniel Colbert was awarded an honorable mention for his black and white photograph. The art department praises all of our artists for an excellent job well done this year!
