GSA meeting minutes

Tuesday, 10/9/07

Great meeting!

We’ve established a snack-bringing rotation.  Ashlyn is going to bring snacks next meeting.  Thanks Ashlyn!

Everyone remember to wear your t-shirts tomorrow, 10/11 to support National Coming Out day.

We finalized our talking agreements—I hope that C102 is a sanctuary for all students.  I will get those written up and posted in the room.

Homecoming parade is next Wed, 10/17.  Here are the colors we will be wearing:

Teal = Pink

Kristi= Yellow

Rachel = Blue

Dieter = Blue

Jessica = Purple

Lena = Purple

Paris = Green

Teddy = Green

Lisette = Orange

Julia = Orange

Lindsey= Yellow

Ashlyn = Red

Kaitlyn ??

Jessica is going to bring in a CD next Tuesday for us to sample her music mix! I’m going to ask my resources if we can borrow a rainbow flag.

Teddy and Paris are going to talk to Ms. Aronovici about “What’s in a Name?” or creating some alternative presentation to the student body about homophobia.  I am going to talk to Ms. Aronovici about a presentation from the Watsonville High Drama group.

Today and Friday at lunch, GSA members meet in C102 to create posters to hang around the school.

November 13 is Mix it Up day—we decided that it might be easier to do a lunch-time activity rather than try to involve the whole school.  Teal is going to talk to ASB (Mr. Edwards) about how to do that.  Some great ideas were a costume dress-up race, mummy race, etc. with a candy prize.

The video idea is still going to happen—as Ashlyn noted, we’ve done so much already, we should be really proud!!
