THEATRE ASSIGNMENT
TIME
LINE & ACTIVITIES
(We will also be touching on Theatre History during this time period and there will be reading and other HW activities assigned!)
4/15 & 16 Develop your story; use a STORY BOARD to map it out in pictures & captions; On paper write out the dramatic structure (introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, conclusion); Begin writing your script
4/18 Finish the first draft of your script, including dialogue and stage directions
4/21 & 22 Finalize your scripts; make copies for each group member; practice reading aloud to develop characters and their voices; decide how many puppets/props you will need to make, what your puppets will look like, and what materials will be required.
(The class will brainstorm a list of items to bring to class; some items to be supplied by teacher)
4/24 Bring in Puppet making Materials
4/28 Bring remaining materials for puppets; Puppet construction
4/29, 4/30 Puppet construction; practice with puppets
4/30, 5/2, 5/5 Puppet show performances
THE SHOW MUST BE AT LEAST 2 3 MINUTES LONG, MUST BE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE
