The weekly units of
study will be posted on the chalkboard.
Students should get a “study buddy” to call if they can’t make class and
don’t know what the weekly unit is.
Students will need to make up homework and show it to me, but in-class
work is excused if the absence is excused. Students are encouraged to do
activities in the text and on the web at phschool.com to help them learn the
material, but they will not lose points if they don’t. Students will only need to make up the test
on that material and should be prepared to take that make-up test within two
weeks of their return. If a student has
a planned absence, he or she should see me outside of class time before the
absence, so I can advise what activities would be helpful and what required
homework pages we will be covering. If
there are any questions, e-mail me at jwhalen@aptoshs.net. I find this system is the most time
efficient, far less trouble than writing out elaborate daily lesson plans and
requiring absent students to make up a bunch of work when they are either
feeling ill or traveling. Again, if there is any uncertainty, please contact
me. Gracias, Señor
